Updates, Updates, Updates!

Hey folks, I know it's been a while, but we've been doing all sorts of stuff around here and forgot about our poor little blog. But, I've got a bit of time to spare right now to fill you in on what's happened over the past month.

To celebrate Asian Heritage Month, we held our monthly Last Fridays event, in partnership with the Regent Park Diversity Committee, and boy did we celebrate! Well over 150 members of the Regent Park community came to our outdoor evening of music, spoken word, martial-arts demonstrations, taiko drumming, lion dancing...I'm sure I've forgotten something, there was so much happening! Catch us next month, June 27, in the field behind the 600 Dundas E building, with our feature performers Start Select.

Our latest issue of Catch da Flava Magazine should be hitting the stands early next week. This issue is produced in partnership with the Luminato Streetscapes, and contains 14 whopping pages jam packed full of Luminato info. Also look for our feature articles on black focus schools, Barack Obama, and A History of Regent Park!

Speaking of Luminato Streetscapes, you've probably heard that the Luminato Arts Festival starts...well, today! All sorts of cool things are happening across the city for the festival, but June 13-15, come by Regent Park for the Streetscapes Livingspace event. You'll get a tour of North Regent guided by local youth to see all of the great arts projects they've been working on in the area. Just as a teaser, there have been sightings of 18ft community members seen around North Regent, so be sure to check it out!

Our Summer Media Arts Camp starts July 3rd for youth 11-15 & 16-19. Anyone interested should call our office at 416-863-1074.

Alright, I think that's it for now. I promise we'll give our blog more attention in the future so you can keep up to date on what we're up to. Talk to you soon!
